Keith Penny
Executive Director
Keith has over 35 years’ experience within the Fire & General insurance industry. Prior to establishing TLC Insurance in 1998, his past history included roles with Royal, Security & General / Lumley. In 1993, Keith established Heritage Insurance Brokers (with their own specialised wording for heavy machinery insurance) - many of his foundation clients from this period remain as the foundation of TLC Insurance today.
Andrew Reid
Executive Director
Andrew returned to New Zealand in 2020 to join TLC Insurance having underwritten heavy machinery in Australia for almost 2 years. He is licenced to operate heavy machinery and brings that knowledge to the table when offering solutions via TLC’s heavy machinery insurance products. His determination and inquisitive nature make him ideally suited as Head of TLC Insurance where he is focused on leading the team through their current growth phase. Andrew’s ability to engage and develop new relationships while maintaining key relationships with our broking partners is paramount to the success of TLC.
Melissa Stichbury
Head of Underwriting & Claims
Melissa has been with TLC Insurance for over ten years and has gained significant experience in the heavy machinery insurance segment over this time. Along with her passion for underwriting, she empowers both the underwriting and claims teams to be confident in their decision making to work autonomously as a cohesive group.
Andrew Paterson
National Underwriting Development Manager
Andrew has over 20 years of experience in Commercial Insurance, in account management, underwriting and people leader roles. Andrew’s philosophy centres on positive relationships with both brokers and customers. He believes that delivering outcomes and solutions for customers is important as they are really the focus of what insurance is all about.
Adrian Burmeister
Underwriting Development Manager
Adrian moved to New Zealand from South Africa in 2023 and has over 15 years’ experience in insurance within broking, underwriting management and insurer environments. Adrian enjoys building on existing relationships and developing new ones with our broker partners. He believes in educating and empowering insurance professionals to help them deliver the best advice to their clients.
Aman Sharma
Senior Underwriter
Aman joined TLC in 2023 and brings a wealth of insurance experience to this Senior Underwriter role. Aman has a strong desire to actively work with brokers on finding the best solutions for the owners of heavy machinery. Aman prides himself on his interpersonal skills, can-do approach and enthusiasm.
Deborah Robert

Deborah joins us from abroad where she has spent recent years working in underwriting teams for a specialist insurer. Deborah can appreciate the importance of specialist insurance and is a great addition to our Underwriting Team.

Anishka has joined the Underwriting team with a strong desire to pursue a career in Insurance. With a strong legal background, Anishka holds many great transferrable skills that we know will compliment all that we do at TLC.

Claims Team Leader / Senior Claims Specialist
Mawai joined TLC Insurance in 2018 and has developed a great reputation providing the exceptional claims service that our brokers value. Mawai has excellent customer service experience which was a vital part of her role with her past employer. As Team Leader of the Claims Team, Mawai is focused on ensuring that the claims are handled both efficiently and effectively by the team.
Emma St Hill-Warren
Claims Specialist
Emma joined TLC Insurance in February 2022. Having previously worked for the Earthquake Commission and administrative roles, Emma brings a high level of claims experience, organisational skills and diligence to her role at TLC.
Stacey Leigh

Stacey joined TLC in late 2018 from Melbourne where she has held previous administrative roles within the insurance sector. Stacey complements our claims team with a high level of organisation and skill.
Tess Hammond

With a tenure spanning over a decade, Tess is a seasoned professional and a familiar face, holding several positions during her time with the company. As Claims Administrator, Tess provides vital support to our Claims Specialists to enable efficient claim resolution.
Joanne Beattie
Underwriting Support Team Leader
Joanne has been with TLC Insurance since 2015 and she forms a critical part of the underwriting team. Prior to joining TLC, Joanne worked within the banking and finance sectors which included involvement in finance of heavy machinery.
Carmen Davey

Carmen joined the Underwriting team in 2022 in an Underwriting Support role. Carmen has held various administration roles in both New Zealand and Australia and provides valuable support to our Underwriting Team.
